Nursultan Nazarbayev strikes the gong. What's next?

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev presented the International Financial Center "Astana" in the capital of Kazakhstan and personally signaled signing of financial and commercial deals by striking the gong. Nazarbayev was supported by Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, as well as heads of major international companies, development institutions and financial organizations.

This center, according to Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Sagintayev, will become a financial and economic bridge between Western China, Mongolia, the Middle East and Europe, and will open access to giant markets for more than one billion people. Experts also discuss risks, and there are much more of them compared to pluses.

"Creation of this financial center opens a new page in the history of modern independent Kazakhstan. It's an important step towards development of the country's economy," Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the opening ceremony. The head of state promised that he would do everything possible to make business profitable and Kazakhstan would benefit greatly from this.

Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the decree on creation of the international financial center in 2015. It was created as a financial hub for the Central Asian region. Today its geography has expanded - from Western China to the European Union.
