How people live in occupied territories: photo report
Escalation of the situation around Karabakh conflict zone, which led to the death of soldiers on both sides, raises experts' concerns. Meanwhile, preservation of the status quo also causes concern, if we take into account the way people live in the occupied territories. Vestnik Kavkaza presents a photo report, prepared by hetq.am, about Karabakh village of Murishen, where 160 people live. Only 9 pupils study at the local school.
You can see old people, women and children in these photos; You can clearly see how they live. These people have nowhere to go and nothing to live on. In fact, they are being held captive by "heroes of the Karabakh war". One of them, Major-General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos) says: "If Azerbaijan tries to strike, only civilian population of Armenia will suffer, because we don't have such strategic facilities as Azerbaijan has." He easily speaks about it, realizing that people who live in such villages became hostages of this situation. Will he be able to repeat his words while looking into the eyes of those who have been dragged into the abyss of poverty and constant fear by these "heroes"?
