There will be around 300 exhibits in total," Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Medinsky, said.

He called this exhibition a symbol of museum's unity, unity of museum and cultural spheres of Russia: "Its geographical coverage is truly enormous - from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, from Khanty-Mansiysk to Feodosia. Exhibits from museums located 150 thousand kilometers around Moscow were transported for this exhibition."

"Traditionally, one of the most famous and important for the Russian Orthodox Church icons will become a symbol of this exhibition. This year, the Theotokos of Vladimir from the Pskov-Caves Monastery, the only monastery that has never been closed in Russia, even during Soviet times, will be brought to Moscow. This icon is one of the main symbols of the ancient Pskovo-Caves Monastery," Metropolitan of Pskov and Porkhov Tikhon, who is also chairman of the Patriarchal Council for Culture, said.
