Ingushetia attracts investments

In 2013, the rate of population decline improved in Russia, the birthrate exceeded the death rate 1.28-fold. According to the Russian Healthcare Ministry, the lowest death rate was registered in Ingushetia. Obviously, the traditions of highlanders and the normalization of the socio-economic situation in the republic played their roles. According to the Ingush leader, 85% of projects of the program for socio-economic development of the region until 2016 had been realized. Yevkurov focused on unrealized aspects, rather than on achievements.

Speaking of such aspects, Yevkurov mentioned equipment of the oncological center in Pliyevo. 400 million rubles were spent on its construction, it was opened in June 2014. The center lacks the necessary equipment to treat people suffering from cancer. “We had initially listed the oncological center in the federal program of socio-economic development of the Ingush Republic taking into account constructing the building within the framework of the program. Purchase of equipment will be made by the Healthcare Ministry. We have done our part and now we expect about 1 billion rubles from the Healthcare Ministry to buy equipment,” said Yevkurov.

Another problem mentioned by Yevkurov is the incomplete construction of a youth center and an orphanage: “The previous year’s goal was unaccomplished, we expanded it this year,” noted the head of the region. The living complex will open in autumn. There will be 500 apartments for young families and orphans in each.

According to Yevkurov, construction of housing for refugees from Chechnya was 3-4 months long: “The money is in place, everything is in place. The difference is that the work was started too late. It is associated with a human factor, failures to meet the schedule were technical.”

And finally, in the sector of road infrastructure development in the republic, several projects failed due to severe weather conditions last year. Yevkurov promised that they will be accomplished this year.

Speaking of foreign investments in the Ingush economy, the republic’s leader stated that 14-16 billion rubles are expected to be invested in the agricultural industry, the processing industry and development of private projects in the resort zone. The Intensive Gardens of Ingushetia is the main investment project of Ingushetia. It is being realized by an Italian company. 5 billion rubles will be invested in it. Special greenhouses will grow apples for consumers in the republic and abroad. They will be harvested on 200 hectares of land.

Ingushetia will soon launch production of South Korea’s Daewoo buses. 300 million rubles have been invested in the Daewoo Bus Ingushetia factory. It will produce three types of buses a month, 50 in total. 210 people will be given jobs. The factory will produce household products after the launch of the second line.

Concerning neighbours, according to Yevkurov, “We exchange children going for vacation with the Abkhaz Republic. This year and the previous year we had such exchanges. Now, this year, we have started the project for realization of the agreement within the framework of rehabilitation of Abkhaz children. The first group is already being treated at our rehabilitation center, the next group should arrive now.” Yevkurov spoke about shipments of tangerines from the subtropical republic. He complained that there was no such cooperation with South Ossetia because North Ossetia was fulfilling all the social demands. “Although the rehabilitation center has been visited by many families from South Ossetia, I believe we will develop cooperation within the framework of the project too.”
