Foreign directors will work in theatres of Baku under a contract from the start of the next theatrical season, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Tourism of Azerbaijan told Trend. This will be as part of a state program of theatrical development. One of the first participants in the program will be the State Academic Drama Theatre of Azerbaijan, which will open after renovation headed by a new director, Israfil Israfilov.

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group will make a visit to the occupied Azerbaijani territories to investigate the issue of illegal settling of Armenians on occupied Azerbaijani lands, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmer Mammadyarov said, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports. The minister recalled that in 2005 the international mission studied the facts of illegal Armenian settlement of occupied lands and the report was presented to the UN and the OSCE.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has declared an emergency situation due to swarms of Morrocan and Asian dragonflies. The ministry's press-service told Trend that the insects had destroyed 20-25 hectares of green fields on the Navay-Gadjibul road section of the Alyaty-Gadjibul highway. The chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, Joao Soaresh, in an interview to the BBC Azerbaijani service, has blamed Armenia for dragging on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, Vesti.az reports. He said that some believe that for the last 6 years there has been an opportunity to conclude an agreement. Soaresh felt the desire of Azerbaijan and Armenia to solve the issue. But he doubts whether the new president of Armenia has the authority before the political powers to achieve results.
