Israel is looking forward to historic visit by Elmar Mammadyarov
The Israeli Ambassador to Russia, Dorit Golender, described the upcoming visit to Tel Aviv by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, as "historic."
She stated this in an exclusive interview with Vestnik Kavzaka. "Until now, the foreign minister of the country has not visited Israel," she added.As previously reported by Vestnik Kavkaza, on April 21 Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will arrive in Israel on an official visit. The head of Azerbaijani foreign diplomacy is expected to hold a series of meetings with Israeli leaders, including Avigdor Lieberman, Shimon Peres, Zeev Elkin and Benjamin Netanyahu. The parties will discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations, as well as relations with Iran and Turkey. The Ambassador said that the relationship between the two countries is very good. She recalled that Israel is home to many immigrants from Azerbaijan."Israel attaches great importance to relations with the country," Golender said.
