Nazarbayev bans anonymous comments on Internet
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev ratified the amendments to the laws "on information and communication issues" banning anonymous comment on the Kazakh websites.
According to the president's office, the law is aimed at improvement of the legislation in the field of information and communication.
The website owners in Kazakhstan are obliged to conclude agreements with their users on identification in the e-government portals or via pass SMS-identification.
Kazakhstan's Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abayev said the move came following insults on the web and comments inciting to social and inter-ethnic hatred.
"But it won't cancel a person's right to use a false name while leaving a comment on website, but the portal will know who is registered behind this username," AKIpress cited him as saying.
