Stoltenberg comments on NATO being 'brain dead' remark
NATO is active and adapting to new circumstances, NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg said ahead of a leaders' summit in London celebrating the alliance's 70th anniversary. He commented on French President Macron’s "brain dead" remark.
"That’s not the case because, actually, NATO is active. NATO is agile. NATO is adapting. NATO is the most successful alliance in history because we have been able to change again and again, when the world is changing," he said in a doorstep statement while heading to today's meetings.
Stoltenberg recalled that they implemented the largest reinforcement of collective defense and now have combat-ready troops in the eastern part of the Alliance.
