Altug Celikbilek: organization of Islamic Games in Baku is best
The Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku are best in terms of organization, the Turkish tennis player Altug Celikbilek, who won the gold medal winner in singles, told the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.
"The Baku Islamic Solidarity Games are probably best in terms of organization. Starting with transport and ending with food and all the conditions created for athletes," he said.
"The Islamic Solidarity Games are very important for me. It's the same Olympics for me, but held among Islamic countries," the champion said.
He stressed that he is happy to win a gold medal of the Islamic Solidarity Games. "I am very happy to become the champion of of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The experience was incredible," the sportsman noted.
According to the tennis player, he participated in the finals with fever. "That's why I lost 4:1 in the second set, but I got myself together and won 6:4. Of course, it is difficult to play with a teammate, as we constantly meet at competitions and training," Altug Celikbilek concluded.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones.
