Armored cars to serve US President in Hanoi

A Boeing C-17 Globemaster III from the U.S.’s Yokota airbase in Japan landed at the Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi at 8 a.m. Saturday, carrying two presidential state cars called Cadillac One, VnExpress reports.

The aircraft also carried two Chevrolet Suburban cars and several dozen members of President Trump’s escort team.

From early morning, Vietnamese traffic police forces were on guard at the airport, ready to lead the U.S. convoy to the downtown area, where Trump is scheduled to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un next week.

Cadillac One, dubbed as "The Beast," is designed to withstand grenades and bio-chemical weapons. In addition, the presidential guard vehicle also has a night time driving assistance system and a private wireless network to protect the vehicle.

During the president’s overseas trips, the U.S. Secret Service simultaneously uses two Cadillacs to enhance security.
