Azerbaijan universities’ student enrolment ruined: admission plan met only by 77.4% against 92.4% a year earlier
The State Examination Centre operating in Azerbaijan in the form of legal entity of public law is forced to admit the frustration of student enrolment by Azerbaijan universities for 2016/17 academic year: the admission plan was implemented only by 77.4% against 92.4% a year earlier.
Centre’s preliminary statistics shows that this year only 30,231 entrants were enrolled versus the plan of 39,039 students (36,496 vs 33,707 in 2015).
At that, 82,261 entrants applied for universities in 2016 against 87,826 ones in 2015. In other words, 36.75% of the applicants could get in the universities against 38.38% a year earlier.
Nevertheless, the State Examination Center found a reason for joy: this year 34,385 entrants scored at least 200 points in test exams against 33,198 entrants a year earlier.
