Azerbaijani army launches preemptive strike on occupants of Karabakh

The Azerbaijani armed forces launch a preemptive strike on the positions of the Armenian armed forces on the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh territories in order to prevent another planned provocation by Armenia, the press service of the country’s Defense Ministry said.

As a result of the strikes carried out in Fuzuli-Khojavend direction, a large number of Armenian forces, which are part of the battalion center, were destroyed, and several units of military equipment and other military facilities of the enemy were completely disabled, according to the ministry.

"In order to suppress any enemy action against the civilian population and military personnel of Azerbaijan and to strike back at Armenia’s firing positions, Azerbaijani troops were brought into combat readiness," the defense ministry stated.

The defense ministry added that the Azerbaijani army fully controls the operational situation along the entire front.

On July 4 at about 20:40, the Armenian armed forces, using 82-mm and 120-mm mortars and grenade launchers, shelled the Alkhanli village of Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli district. As a result of this provocation, the residents of the village Sahiba Allahverdiyeva and Zahra Guliyeva were killed. Salminaz Guliyeva was injured and hospitalized.
