Boat carrying refugees sinks off Turkish coast, killing 11 people
A boat carrying refugees and migrants has reportedly sunk off Turkey's Aegean coast leaving at least 11 dead and a number of people missing.
Television footage showed bodies washed up on a beach near the town. Rescuers managed to save seven people from the stricken vessel and the coast guard was searching for any other survivors, the Dogan news agency (DHA) said.
DHA says the boat capsized near the resort town of Kusadasi and that seven people were rescued.
Turkish television channel NTV said the refugees and migrants had been travelling in a rubber boat.
