Cavusoglu and Pompeo to meet in Washington in June
Turkish Foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will meet U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington on June 4, a Turkish foreign ministry official said.
The meeting comes amid high tension between the two NATO allies, most recently due to U.S. moving its Israeli embassy to Jerusalem.
The source added that matters pertaining to bilateral ties, regional issues - including Syria and recent developments in the Middle East - combating terrorism, and terror groups like PKK and FETO will be discussed during the meeting, Anadolu Agency reported.
On April 27, Cavusoglu and Pompeo held a bilateral meeting during the NATO foreign ministers summit in Brussels.
