Cavusoglu names main causes of discord between Turkey and US
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that relations with the United States were harmed by Washington’s refusal to extradite cleric Fetullah Gulen and its provision of arms to the Kurdish militant YPG.
Cavusoglu said that ties between the NATO allies could be harmed further if Washington does not correct its mistakes, Reuters reported.
"The US claims that it is an ally of Turkey and at the same time, is actively arming the PYD and YPG, which pose a threat not only to Turkey, but also to the entire region,” the Turkish foreign minister said, speaking to the Anadolu Agency.
He said that Washington should understand that PYD and YPG do not represent all ethnic Kurds of Syria.
