Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff appreciates level of relations with Russia
Russian-U.S. military-to-military communication is satisfactory, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford said, adding that he speaks regularly with the chief of the Russian general staff, Gen. Valery Gerasimov.
"I'm satisfied right now with our military-to-military communication to maintain a degree of transparency that mitigates the risk of miscalculation. I think we have a framework within to manage a crisis, should one occur, at the senior military-to-military level," he said in an interview.
Dunford noted that there are major issues that affect Russia-U.S. bilateral relationship that have to be addressed, accusing Russia of violating international laws.
