Chancellor of Austria: Turkey has no place in the European Union
The political course followed by Turkey last years, will not allow the country to become an EU member. This was stated by the Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz, APA reported citing RİA Novosti.
According to him, Turkey is undergoing “serious violations of human rights, fundamental rights and freedoms”.
“I do not accept that the EU is watching and pretends that nothing is happening. From my point of view, Turkey, especially in light of the policy of recent years, has no place in the EU. It would be fair to stop the accession talks,” said the Austrian Chancellor in an interview with Bild am Sonntag.
