Chizhov: Nord Stream 2 pipe-laying works on schedule
There are no insurmountable obstacles to the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project, Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said.
"To date, I do not see insurmountable obstacles," TASS cited the Russian diplomat as saying.
He noted that 20% of the underwater part of the route has already been passed. According to Chizhov, despite the fact that "it is winter and the weather in the Baltic Sea is not the most favorable for pipe-laying works", it is on schedule.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the EU added that the statements of some European politicians that it would be difficult to prevent the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project is recognizing objective reality.
