Dagestan to allocate 20 mln rubles to protect settlements from floods
In 2020, more than 2,000 residents of the republic will be protected from floods in Dagestan, the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the region reported.
The ministry said that in order to protect the population from the negative effects of floods in 2020-2021, an overhaul of water-protecting shafts and shore protection constructions will be carried out. "The work will be carried out on the rivers Terek in the Kizlyar and Babayurt districts, Gulgerichai in the Kurakhsky district, Aksai in the Khasavyurt district, Samur in the Akhtynsky district. The measures will protect more than 2,000 people living in the settlements of these regions, infrastructure objects and farmland with a total area of 9 thousand hectares from floods,” the Ministry of Natural Resources of Dagestan informed.
