EU to invest 400 million euros in Iraq
The European Union’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said the bloc would invest 400 million euros in Iraq.
According to her, this money will be invested in addition to individual contributions from member states, Reuters reported.
Iraq's Planning Minister Salman al-Jumaili said earlier at the international conference in Kuwait that the country needs $88.2 billion to rebuild after years of war. The director general at the planning ministry, Qusai Abdelfattah, said $22 billion of those funds were needed immediately and the rest for the medium term.
