Elkhan Aleskerov: appointment of Ali Asadov as PM marks new stage in Azerbaijan's public administration

Appointment of Ali Asadov as Azerbaijani Prime Minister marks a new stage in the republic's public administration, Director of the Baku Network expert council Elkhan Aleskerov told the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, commenting on the unanimous vote in the Milli Majlis for the new head of government.

"Public administration in Azerbaijan requires a new level of efficiency. The economic projects of the crisis period have been completed, the economy has been restored, the non-oil sector and the diversification of the oil industry are in full swing - under these conditions, the efficiency of the government should increase significantly. Azerbaijan enters the year of 2020 with an updated plan of goals and objectives, which increases the requirements for the government," he said.

"Here it is necessary to note the level of our leader, President Ilham Aliyev, who is one of the brightest personalities among world leaders. The update of the Cabinet of Ministers is aimed at pulling up government figures to this level, among other things. I think Prime Minister Ali Asadov, well-known both in political circles, the presidential apparatus and the public as a symbolic person, will ensure that Azerbaijan continues to develop in a progressive manner," Elkhan Aleskerov expressed confidence.

The Director of the Baku Network expert council emphasized that personnel reforms in Azerbaijan will definitely continue. "These reforms are constantly implemented, new personnel are periodically appointed, those people who do not meet current standards leave. This is a normal process in the life of the Azerbaijani state," he concluded.
