European Commission to increase assistance to refugees from Donbas by €20 million
The European Commission has decided to increase funds by €20 million for the assistance of refugees from eastern regions of Ukraine due to the armed conflict, a statement distributed in connection with today's visit of the European Commissioner for humanitarian aid and crisis management Christos Stylianidis to Kiev.
"Today the European Commission is to increase humanitarian aid to Ukraine and neighboring countries to support those who have suffered due to the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The EC allocated a new package amounting to €20 million. This will increase our abilities to help the most vulnerable people in Ukraine, both in government-controlled and areas not controlled by Kiev,'' Tass reports.
