Exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Baku's liberation from the Dashnak-Bolshevik occupation opened today in the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan. As Vestnik Kavkaza's correspondent reports, Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
"Azerbaijan and Turkey have always been close, which was demonstrated when Baku was liberated through joint efforts of the Caucasian Islamic Army and Azerbaijani corps," he said.
"Azerbaijan went through a lot, and today it's an independent and prosperous country. Events that happened 100 years ago once again prove how close we are. It prepared us for today and tomorrow. Even though we're two different countries, we're still one nation," Erkan Ozoral said.
Director of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, Naila Velikhanli, also noted importance of the fact that Azerbaijanis and Turks liberated Baku from the Dashnaks hundred years ago together.
"Sons of Azerbaijan and Turkey fought together during liberation of Baku, which shows how close we are," she said.
