Farid Gaibov: Everything is ready for World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku

Innovations introduced in the National Gymnastics Arena will help to attract more viewers, vice-president of the European Union of Gymnastics, head of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Farid Gaibov said today at a meeting with the heads and representatives of delegations on the eve of World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling, which kicks off tomorrow in Baku.

"Last year we only hosted the World Cup in trampoline gymnastics, this year we added tumbling, and next year we will add another competition. We have tried to organize everything properly and worked very hard for this, and now everything is ready," he said.

"You can see how great the arena is, I hope you like it. We installed a special illumination and hope that it will attract more viewers. This was necessary to promote gymnastics not only in Azerbaijan, but also all over the world, because the World Cup is broadcast on television," he noted.

He also wished all participants of the World Cup to have a great time in Baku.

The new Olympic cycle’s first World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on February 18-19. 85 trampoline and tumbling gymnasts from 15 countries will take part in the competitions on the basis of the new Code of Points coming into force in 2017.
