Flash floods kill 11 people in Iran

At least eleven people have been killed in flash floods triggered by heavy rain in a mountainous area of northern Iran.

The authorities fear more casualties in the provinces of Tehran, Alborz and Qazvin, rescue workers are still working in the region, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Associated Press.

The local officials said that that at least 20 cars were swept away by the water, many with people inside them.
