Foreign Ministers of CSTO countries discuss security issues in Almaty
Meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the CSTO countries (the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan) began today in Almaty.
After traditional photo session, ministers, as well as secretary general of the organization Yuri Khachaturov, began their talks. Kairat Abdrakhmanov, head of Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry, presides over the current Foreign Ministers Council, RIA Novosti reports.
He congratulated his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the upcoming holiday - the Day of Russia and the opening of the FIFA World Cup. He also congratulated Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on his recent appointment.
This meeting will continue in an expanded format with participation of delegations.
