Four terrorists killed in special operation in Aktobe
Four terrorists involved in the attacks on gun shops and army unit in Aktobe have been eliminated during a special operation carried out in the city, the Anti-Terror Center of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee said.
"Terrorists’ whereabouts in an apartment of a dwelling house in Nekrasov street have been established as a result of investigative measures. During the negotiations, the terrorists refused to surrender and opened fire. Subsequent attempts to persuade them to lay down arms had no effect. Four terrorists who were in the apartment were destroyed as special operation forces stormed it," TASS cited the center as saying.
It added that the terrorists’ accomplice opened fire on a police patrol with a smooth-bore gun in another part of the city and was eliminated by reprisal fire. Two police offers sustained minor injuries.
"There are no casualties among the civilian population and law enforcement officers," the report said.
