Georgia to tighten sanctions against driving over the speed limit
Those, who drive over the speed limit face tougher penalties in Georgia. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Nino Javakhadze said the fine amount for excessive speed will double, InterPressNews reports.
The agency has already prepared legislative amendments, which will be submitted to the government and then to the parliament.
According to the amendments, points of driver’s license will be attached to so-called smart cameras. It means that if a driver exceeds the speed limit, he/she will have to pay a double fine and at the same time, the car owner will also lose points on his/her 100-point driver license the driving.
