Georgia wins first female gold in weightlifting
Anastasia Hotfrid, representing Georgia at the world championship in weightlifting in the US city of Anaheim, has won the Georgian team’s first gold medal. .
She competed in the 90kg category and lifted 265kg in total (snatch-120kg and clean and jerk-145kg).
Hotfid managed to defeat her rivals from Chile and the Dominican Republic, Agenda.ge reported.
From males, Shota Mishveladze was able to win bronze in the 62kg category.
