Georgian students to stay home for week due to flu outbreak
Studies at Georgian universities, public schools and kindergartens have been postponed until January 21 due to the spread of flu, according to Georgian Education Ministry.
The ministry said that they will observe the situation during the time studies are postponed. It was recommended to the leadership of all public schools to carry out disinfection activities.
Head of the National Disease Control Centre Amiran Gamkrelidze said that 254 individuals are infected per 100,000 at present, which means that there is no threat of an epidemic, Agenda.ge reported.
"At least 500 people should be infected per 100,000 for us to say that there is a flu epidemic in the country," he said.
