Hair of Prophet Muhammad to be displayed in Moscow Cathedral Mosque
Today, an important Muslim relic – a piece of hair of the Prophet Muhammad – will be delivered from Chechnya to Moscow. It will be gifted to the Moscow Cathedral Mosque by the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
According to the press service of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, the relic will be delivered to the mosque at 18.00 – the time of the evening prayer. In the future, an ark with a piece of hair of the Prophet Muhammad will be put on public display on the days of major religious holidays.
"Otherwise, we simply cannot cope with the number of those wishing to see the relic," TASS cited the Imam of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, Ildar-Khazrat Alyautdinov, as saying.
"For the first time in the history of Islam in Russia, the greatest relic will be kept in our nation's capital on an ongoing basis," the press service stressed.
