Iran's Larijani arrives in Istanbul
Iran's Parliament speaker Ali Larijani arrived in Istanbul to participate in the 10th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
Upon arrival at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Larijani was warmly welcomed by top Turkish officials and Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad-Ebrahim Taherian, IRNA reported.
"Attending the Asian Parliamentary Assembly is an appropriate opportunity for boosting convergence among Islamic countries," Larijani told reporters in Tehran prior to leaving for Istanbul this morning.
The Asian Parliamentary Assembly was created in 2006 at the 7th session of the Association of Asian Parliamentary for Peace (AAPP).
