Iranian and Chinese FMs discuss Syria and North Korea
Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed the issues related to the Syrian and North Korean crises on the sidelines of the first International Forum on Ancient Civilizations in Athens
"The sides have exchanged their views on Syria, the situation at the Korean peninsula and other international and regional problems of mutual interest," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Wang Yi said that China stands ready to expand cooperation with Iran under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, Xinhua reported.
The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will be held from May 14 to 15 in Beijing. Russian President Vladimir Putin will also attend the forum.
