Iranian embassy in Greece stormed by unknown attackers
A group of unknown attackers has stormed the Iranian Embassy in Athens. Nobody was reported hurt in the attack.
The invaders broke glasses of the diplomatic police kiosk and damaged the embassy building. They threw bottles and rocks at embassy building, IRNA reported.
Greek police said that the attackers occasionally invade foreign diplomatic missions.
Athens police has so far arrested no people involved in the incident.
Police officials said that about ten people armed with iron bars early on September 17 smashed windows in the embassy’s waiting room and threw red paint into the courtyard.
In a statement posted on the Internet, the anarchist Rubicon group claimed it carried out the attack in a gesture of solidarity with the "Kurds of Iran," AFP reported.
