Kremlin: Putin and Erdogan understand each other very well
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has great trust towards his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Asked during the interview with the Hurriyet Daily newspaper, if Erdogan was one of the most trusted leaders for Putin, Peskov replied: "Of course. They understand each other very well."
The Kremlin spokesman recalled that there were truly two big crises in Moscow-Ankara relations. "Thank God we left them behind," TASS cited him as saying.
Peskov noted that their effects could have been truly deadly for the relations of the two countries. According to Peskov, the presdents prevented that by demonstrating political will. Russia and Turkey "did what had to be done in order to overcome these crises," the Kremlin spokesman concluded.
