Kremlin expects Armenia to take part in EEU summit in Sochi

Moscow expected Armenia to take part in the summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), acting Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"No doubt, we expect it [Armenia’s participation in the summit], this is a very important participant, an important partner," TASS cited Peskov as saying.

The acting spokesman also stressed that normally bilateral contacts are held on the sidelines of such events. "That is why, we expect bilateral contacts to take place as well," he explained.

The session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the highest supranational authority of the Eurasian Economic Union, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place, will be held in Sochi on May 14.

Armenia’s new Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he expected to meet with Putin on May 14 in Sochi.
