Kremlin: work underway on 3rd Russia-Turkey-Iran summit on Syria
The possibility of holding the 3rd trilateral meeting of the Russian, Turkish, and Iranian leaders on the Syrian settlement is being explored in early September, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"After the three presidents’ schedules are agreed on through diplomatic channels, we will let you know," TASS cited Peskov as saying.
Turkey's Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin earlier said that the third meeting between the Turkish, Russian and Iranian leaders on Syria was scheduled to be held in Tehran in the first week of September.
Russian Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev said in late July that the Astana format summit would be held in the Iranian capital in September. He noted that no specific date had been determined.
