Lavrov: Ukraine playing with fire
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the Kerch Strait conflict, saying that sponsors of the Kiev leadership should warn Ukraine about the inadmissibility of playing with fire.
He noted that it would be useful for everyone to listen at the UN Security Council to the truth about what happened.
"But it primarily depends neither on the [UN] Security Council, nor on the OSCE, nor on any other organization, but on the sponsors of the Ukrainian leadership, who must strongly warn it [Kiev] about the inadmissibility of playing with fire in such a way," Lavrov noted.
Yesterday morning three ships of the Ukrainian Navy - Berdyansk, Nikopol and Yany Kapu - had been seized after violating the Russian state border. The Ukrainian boats did not react to legal demands of the ships accompanying them and made dangerous maneuvers, the FSB said.
The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the incident involving Ukrainian navy ships was a very dangerous provocation on the part of Kiev.
