Lavrov paying official visit to Iraq
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has started his visit to Iraq today to discuss key aspects on the Middle East agenda.
According to Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, the whole spectrum of Middle Eastern issues will be discussed, including the situation in Iraq and Syria, Persian Gulf, the situation around Iran and the Palestinian territories.
Iraqi Ambassador to Russia Haidar Mansour Hadi said earlier that Lavrov will meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi and President Barham Salih during his visit.
In addition, the Russian top diplomat will be accompanied by representatives of Russian oil and gas companies in Baghdad and they will offer to ramp up their investments in Iraq,
