NATO bolsters Ukraine defences over Black Sea situation

NATO allies have increased their practical support to Ukraine in light of the security situation in the Black Sea, according to the statement following the NATO-Ukraine Commission meeting held at NATO Headquarters on March 6.

"NATO continues to call on Russia to immediately release the Ukrainian sailors and ships it seized in November near the Kerch Strait. Allies have increased their practical support to Ukraine in light of the security situation in the Black Sea," the statement reads. 

The current situation in Crimea was also discussed at the meeting. Allies reaffirmed NATO’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
