Nazarbayev appoints new Kazakh Defense Minister
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed Nurlan Yermekbaev as the country's Defense Minister, according to the official Akorda page in Facebook.
Yermekbaev will replace Saken Jasuzakov, who held this office since September 2016.
In April 2018, he was dismissed from the position of the Minister for Religious Affairs and Civil Society and was appointed President’s Aide and Secretary of the Security Council.
Yermekbaev was born on January 1, 1963 in Shymkent.
