Nazarbayev to attend Baku-Tbilisi-Kars rail line opening
Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay a visit to Azerbaijan on October 30 to attend the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars rail line opening, Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Beybit Isabayev said.
"The Kazakh leader will attend the solemn opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway which is due to take place on October 30," APA cited the ambassador as saying.
The event will also be attended by Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Georgia's Prime Minister Georgy Kvirikashvili.
The peak capacity of the 826-kilometer railway will be 17 million metric tons of cargo per year, with initial stage projections of one million passengers and 6.5 million metric tons of cargo.
