'New Wave' starts in Sochi
Yesterday, the international contest of young singers of popular music 'New Wave' started in Sochi.
The event is taking place in Russia. From 2002 to 2014 the contest was held annually in Jurmala (Latvia). In 2015, 'New Wave' moved to Sochi, where the festival will be held until October 11.
This year the contest program will be presented by 15 finalists from Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Ukraine, Croatia.and Switzerland. Russia will be represented by Kamila Ismailova, Oleg Sidorov and Tatiana Shamanina.
The chairman of the jury is the People's Artist of Russia, producer and composer Igor Krutoy. In addition, the jury includes Filipp Kirkorov, Igor Nikolaev, Valeria, Leonid Agutin and others.
The prize fund is 7 million rubles: the winner of the first place will receive 3.5 million rubles, second place – 2.2 million rubles, and third – 1.3 million rubles.
