Nurmagomedov to battle Ferguson in April
Russia's fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov will battle American Tony Ferguson for the 155-pound title.
Russian news site TASS was the first to reveal the news, followed by BJPenn.com getting confirmation from sources close to Tony Ferguson.
The official announcement is scheduled to take place at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 220 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Jan. 20.
UFC 223 in Brooklyn, New York, expected to happen on April 7. The report also cites that the fight will be for the "full UFC title".
Nurmagomedov remained undefeated and staked a claim for a lightweight title shot with a dominant unanimous decision over Brazil's Edson Barboza in December at UFC 219 in Las Vegas.
