Peskov says when Putin can offer candidacy of prime minister to State Duma
Russian President Vladimir Putin can nominate the prime minister immediately after the inauguration, the press secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov, said.
"Before the newly appointed head of state, the government resigns its powers," he recalled. "Accordingly, from this moment, one can expect the president's initiative to submit (to the State Duma) the candidacy of the chairman of the government," TASS quotes the Kremlin representative as saying. ”I cannot tell you when this will happen for sure,” he noted. "This is the exclusive prerogative of the Russian president," Peskov pointed out.
