Pompeo to discuss Iran's nuclear program in Germany
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo plans to discuss Iran's nuclear program during his visit to Germany on November 6-8, a senior State Department official said.
"The Europeans have been able to see that the Iranians are moving in the wrong direction in terms of what they’re doing with fissile material and uranium enrichment, and our view has remained that this is a regime intent on using nuclear material to blackmail and try and extort money from Europe or from the West more broadly, and they’re concerned about it," he said, according to the transcript posted on Just The Real News.
The spokesman said that it’s a subject that will come up in the discussions.
During his visit, Pompeo will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, and other senior German officials.
