Putin and Berdimkhamedov hold phone talks
Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the initiative of the Turkmen side, the Kremlin press service reported.
Both leaders reaffirmed their intention to further promote the strategic partnership. They discussed issues related to the further development of trade and economic cooperation and interregional ties, in particular in connection with Berdimuhamedov's upcoming visit to Tatarstan.
They also touched on some aspects of cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States due to Turkmenistan’s chairmanship this year.
In addition, Berdimuhamedov informed Putin about preparations for the first meeting of the Caspian Economic Forum scheduled to take place in Turkmenbashi this August.
