Russia-Islamic World group calls for joint struggle against terrorism
A communiqué of the meeting of the group of the Strategic Vision Russia-Islamic World, which was held in Moscow on June 11-12, said that the expansion of cooperation of Russia with Muslim countries is necessary to combat terrorism. This is stated in a press release. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the interim President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
"Events in recent years indicate that the current international security system is undergoing a profound crisis, one of the results of which is the formation of new centers of tension. This crisis has been used by terrorist organizations, leading an armed struggle against sovereign states. Their ideology and practice of distortion, which is generated by the basic postulates of Islam as a religion of justice, moderation and solidarity, and are a threat not only for the Islamic peoples, but also for the whole if human civilization," TASS quotes the document.
