Russia's Finance Ministry to up daily FX buying to record high
Russia's finance ministry will buy more foreign currency in August on the back of an increase in its oil and gas revenues.
The finance ministry will buy the equivalent of 383.2 billion rubles between August 7 and September 6, compared with the 379.7 billion rubles it bought in the period between June 7 and July 5.
The bank purchased the equivalent of 347.7 billion rubles between July 6 and August 6.
Daily FX purchases will decline slightly to the equivalent of 16.7 billion rubles compared with 19 billion rubles in the preceding period.
