Russian Central Bank sees more prerequisites for cutting than raising interest rates
There are more prerequisites for cutting interest rate than for raising it, Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said on the margins of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meeting in Washington.
“If the situation develops in accordance with our baseline forecast, then, of course, the downward movement is more likely than the upward movement. I repeat once again that we see the possibility of mitigation already this year. We cannot say exactly when”, RIA Novosti quotes her as saying.
